All new LJMU students are guaranteed a room in high quality accommodation.
You can filter by price, room type, location or facilities to find the right accommodation for you.
If you have any queries about accommodation, please see our FAQs page.
Once you have chosen your accommodation, submitting your request is simple. The process is explained below but how you request a room will depend on when you are arriving at LJMU. If you have any further questions about making your request, please contact us at accommodation@ljmu.ac.uk or on 0151 231 4166. However you may also be able to find the answer in our FAQ section.
If you are starting at LJMU in September 2024, you will be able to request accommodation using the request form available within the Applicant Hub from 10am on Monday 8 April 2024. This includes all full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as exchange students who will attend LJMU for the full academic year 2024/25.
Requesting a room via LJMU is the only way to ensure that you will share your flat in one of our halls with other new LJMU students. Booking directly with a hall or via any other website will mean that you are likely to share your flat with older students or students from different universities.
Our accommodation is excellent value by national standards and we guarantee you the cheapest price available anywhere if you request your room via us. However, it is important to request accommodation that you can afford, so check the annual and the weekly price and compare it to what you may receive in funding. Information about student funding can be found in our fees and funding section.
Don’t forget that you are unable to request accommodation until you have Firmly accepted an offer from LJMU. If you are applying via UCAS, you must have accepted an offer from LJMU as your Firm (or first) choice in order to be able to request accommodation.
You will need your UCAS ID (or your six or seven digit LJMU ID) and the email address you use for UCAS Track in order to access the Applicant Hub. There is a delay of a few hours between accepting an offer on UCAS Track and being able to access the accommodation request form.
We can only process accommodation requests that include a personal email address - for instance, a Gmail or Hotmail address. If you used your school or college email address for UCAS Track and do not wish to change that now, you can add a second email address to your accommodation request. This will be the email address that the hall will use to contact you. However, you may wish to update UCAS Track with the personal email address so that all communications from LJMU reach you at the same address. If you submit a request without a personal email address, we will place your request on ‘hold’ until you are able to provide one.
We have a fantastic range of accommodation to choose from and remember we guarantee accommodation to all new LJMU undergraduate students here in Liverpool so you do not need to worry about availability and deadlines.
Any new LJMU student who requests accommodation via us can cancel their booking for any reason and without penalty until Friday 31 August 2024. If you do not achieve the grades required in a Conditional offer from LJMU, your booking will also be cancelled but only after we have received your confirmation.
If you are starting a course at LJMU in January 2025, information about the available accommodation will be published here in due course.
LJMU guarantees a room in one of our approved halls to all new students, including all those who join us in January 2025.
Students joining LJMU for one semester in the 2024/25 academic year should see this page for further information.
If you are a current student you can find out more about your accommodation options on our Current students webpage. Unfortunately, the Accommodation Office cannot assist with your search for accommodation.
